WHO Day at RRMCH –Felicitating the COVID Warriors
April 7th is celebrated as World Health Day and the management of RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital very aptly decided to honour the COVID – 19 warriors of RRMCH appreciating their selfless services to the humanity.
Dr. A. C. Shanmugam, Founder Chancellor, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, The chairman recalled the initial struggle of India coping with the consequences of CORONA pandemic and how the entire nation fought and managed the battle against COVID. He also mentioned that RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital is the first private medical hospital to allocate 900 beds to the COVID treatment. He proudly then stated that RRMCH was listed in the top 5 best private medical hospitals in the country providing COVID treatment. He thanked the teaching and non teaching staffs of RRMCH for their hard work and services.
He also appreciated the administration for coming out with this novel concept of felicitating the COVID warriors who have been working tirelessly for the patients. Around 800 COVID warriors were felicitated in the function.
The Chief Guest Mr. Vijaya Raghavendra, famous cine actor thanked the entire medical fraternity for their services and expressed his gratitude for saving lives. He also appreciated the management for acknowledging the contribution of its employees.
Dr. Pradeep, The Guest of Honour, Professor and HOD, Community Medicine, NIMHANS, recalled his working at RRMCH and urged the public to be more cautious. He also appreciated the gesture of honouring the work of the doctors and others for their work by the management.
Dr. Niranjan, DHO Ramanagara, Special Guest, appreciated the support he received from the RRMCH hospital during the first wave of the pandemic and expressed hope that the second wave shall be contained and will be managed. He also urged the public to cooperate with the authorities.
Dr. Praveen Kumar , Medical Superintendent welcomed the gathering. Mr. C. N. Seetharam, CEO, Dr. Sathyamurthy, Dean, all the HODs along with COVID team were present. All the safety measures were taken while conducting the program.
